GeneralsOnline does not collect data beyond what is necessary to run the service effectively.
Data is never transmitted to a third party other than the data processors listed below. Data is never sold under any circumstances.
DataGathered
The persistent user data we save in our database is as follows:
Generals Online Session ID A unique session identifier which enables users to communicate with our service
User ID A unique number identifying the user on GeneralsOnline
Account Type A value specifying if the user used Steam or Discord
Steam ID The users numeric Steam ID, if they logged in with Steam
Discord ID The users numeric Discord ID, if they logged in with Discord
Display Name This defaults to the users Steam/Discord display name at login
Relay Region This is the result of the initial connection (QoS/ping) tests we perform to see which server region is best for a player. This is not a players location, it's the location of the nearest server that we have deployed, e.g. if a player is in California, the 'value' will be the West Coast of the US
User stats The stats generated by Generals - wins, losses, favorite army, etc
Crash dump files Provies information about why the game crashed
Connection Outcomes Data on whether a connection to players in a lobby succeeded or failed. We use this data to tweak & improve connectivity in future patches.
Players IP Addresses are utilized for connections, but this data is not stored permanently and is immediately discarded when we no longer need it (e.g. the player left the match and went back to the chat room).
Everything else that is stored, is non persistent data, such as the list of lobbies/matches.
